  • 3.2: A register should be maintained by the Hony Secretary of the SLS for this purpose, and copied to the Selection Committee regularly. Any player of repute, who has shown potential, could be inducted in to the pool by the Executive Committee, considering his/her current form, even though not having enough points as per seeding
  • 3.3: Order of placement of those selected should be determined at a trial conducted on a round robin basis when time permits with all players in the pool playing each other within three (3) months of the date of the tour, or in any other fair manner when time do not permit round robin system.
  • 3.4: Withdrawal during/before the trails.

[Personal distress to be of immediate family and if due to illness, Selection Committee should take cognizance of adequate time for recovery prior to the tournament to get back to 100% efficiency]. In both cases, the gap between the next player in waiting and the player concerned is to be also considered, considering that Squash is a game that needs 100% focus for optimum result. If player suffers injury/illness, he/she should forward a valid Medical report from the Ministry of Sports within 24hours from the injury/illness reported time for consideration mentioned in same para

    During the trial (after the trial draw is published), any player cannot award walk-over against any opponent unless due to genuine compassionate reasons of personal distress, injury or illness during the trails. If it is not a genuine reason, Selection Committee has sole authority to waive all matches of that particular player (points will not be considered). Also SLS may take necessary disciplinary action against such cases.

5. Selection of the Captain

Squash being an individual Game, the role of the Captain is mainly of administrative nature, to assist the Team Management. Hence, we propose the Captain Should be selected considering the following;

  • Seniority in the team
  • Attitude and Discipline
  • Leadership Qualities
  • Standard of Play (Eg : Member of the Team and not a Reserve)

Since most of the above data is available with the Sri Lanka Squash, the selection Committee will make the Appointment of Captain, in consultation with the Executive Committee of the SLS, either from the selected players or from the nominated officials- [Particularly when junior Team travel aboard]
