SELECTION CRITERIA FOR MOST PROMISING JUNIOR GIRL/BOY PLAYER OF THE YEAR
1. This selection guideline will be used for selecting players for the Most Promising Squash Player(s) Girl/Boy of the year award during the Annual Sri Lanka Squash Junior National Tournament with the objective of selecting young, up-and-coming players with potential to improve their standard for future success.
2. In respect of the requirement of the criteria to be stipulated for the selection of Most Promising Squash Player of the Year during the Junior National Tournament every year, proposals for Selection Criteria are given in the subsequent paragraphs.
3. Final selection will be decided on the following
- 3.1: Performance
- Primarily, her/his performance during the Junior National Tournament in respective year.
- Primarily, her/his performance during the Junior National Tournament in respective year.
- Players are eligible to participate in two age group categories in a tournament and those who demonstrates exceptional performance in age group categories senior to his/her primary category while winning the primary category will be considered .As such consideration will be given to performance in the main category age group, performance in the senior category age group and the age difference between the main category and the senior category age group.

- 3.2: One player will be selected from each Boys/Girls category.
- 3.3: Selecting player(s) will be with more focus on to the age group of Under 15; however this can be extended to consider age groups of Under 13 and Under 17 by considering performance to select a young talented player.
- 3.4: Current SLS ranking and ASF ranking (if any).
- 3.5: Award winners in previous years are not considered for the selection. (One time award in her/his life).
- 3.6: It is mandatory to participate at “Junior National Tournament” in particular year in order to be considered.
- 3.7: Attitude and Discipline of player(s) during training and local/international competitions.
4. During the selection process, if none of player(s) performance is not up to the expected level, award(s) will not be awarded
5. The Selection board is to comprise with minimum 5 EXCO Members and panel will consist of the following appointments;
- Chairman Tournament Committee (Chairman of the Panel) -Mandatory
- Chairman/Rep Referee/Coaching Committee -Mandatory
- Chairman/Rep Discipline Committee
- Two EXCO Members
- Secretary SLS (Non-Voting)
